This website was designed as a bespoke site for active people in London looking for sporting partners..
The website has been designed to be completely free and a one-stop shop for London fitness fanatics who are looking to find a sports partner to go to the gym with, train for a marathon or find a dance partner to start salsa classes with. To find a sports partner, users must enter their postcode, a complex calculation is made to calculate distances between all of the users in the database, all results are displayed with the nearest person listed first and the furthest is listed last. Upon clicking on the profiles of the matching partners, the user can view the partners photo, details and even a map plotting the location of that person.
The custom pages within the site drives an extremely comprehensive database of sport clubs and leisure centres in London. Users input their postcode and through custom PHP coding, the results page presents their nearest venue. The site also contains another database driven web directory for businesses and sports professionals; once populated with new business listings, this fantastic website will most definitely be a Yell.com equivalent for sports enthustasts.
The website features news articles, jargon buster, training advice and tips. The site has an active user base and a community feel and is now proven to be extremely successful with 500 a day visitors.
